Taking place on the southeast side of Indianapolis this past Friday was the 2024 edition of the Flashes Showcase. This special meet is a staple for the Hoosier state with many of Indiana's best distance runners coming together to compete in the mile. This year winds were sustained at around 10-15 mph throughout the evening on the backstretch which created unideal racing conditions but that did not stop elite fields from producing ten sub 4:20 marks for the boys with four girls also under 5 minutes.
The night consisted of three boys freshman miles, 4x800m heats for each gender, three invite sections of the full mile per gender, as well as the highly anticipated girls and boys elite heats under the lights.
